Pioneering Strong and Innovative Projects in Health Sector, AKGUN;
Developed X-Eye: Mammo early detection system for breast cancer that combats against one of the biggest threats to women life. One in eight women diagnosed with breast cancer at a certain time in her life, which ranks second in mortality after lung cancer. While detecting masses and micro calcifications in mammography images, new approaches have been introduced for the benign / malignant evaluation of the related anomaly.
One of the best examples of University & Industry cooperation
AKGUN X-Eye: Mammo is the first National breast cancer decision support system, which has a very high success rate in mass and micro calcification detection and benign / malignant distinction in anomalies. It works at 99 % sensitivity value in malignant mass and micro calcification detection. As a result of using diverse methods together unique algorithms have been developed, which made this complicated Breast Cancer Decision Support System viable. The system is a product of long and laborious R & D studies that is assertive in competing with its commercial counterparts.
