AKGUN Stood Out at the HIMSS’19 Eurasia » Akgün Teknoloji Sağlık

We participated as a the Diamond and Event Lanyard sponsors in HIMSS’19 Eurasia Congress held in Istanbul between 30 October and 1 November 2019.

HIMSS’19 Eurasia, with its vision that targets Turkey and the other countries in the region, brought together hundreds of foreign visitors and protocol guests as well as thousands of participants from Turkey with international speakers, panel discussions, training sessions and all other components of Health IT Sector in Istanbul.

“Digital Hospital” Simulation made a strong impression!

At the event, besides our remarkable booth, we made a very strong impression with the HIMSS Digital Hospital area, which was established with AKGUN Software’s end-to-end Hospital Information Management System solutions. AKGUN’s advanced technology products and applications were presented in the “Digital Hospital Simulation” area, which included emergency, inpatient room, examination room, surgery, intensive care unit, radiology, pharmacy and system room. In this context, especially the preventative healthcare solutions we developed, which aid the early detection of lung and breast cancer, X-Eye: Toraks Computer Aided Diagnosis of Lung cancer on X-Ray Images and X-Eye: Mammo Breast Cancer Decision Support System, and some of our important AKGUN Digital Hospital Solutions like iVital Intensive Care System, and our Artificial Intelligence products attracted the attention of domestic and foreign participants.

In addition, official delegation visits were made to the Digital Hospital area, where interest was intense. In the first day of the event, Medipol University TTO and HIMSS Turkey Director Dr. İlker Köse presented and explained the digital hospital simulation to the Turkish Minister of Health Dr. Fahrettin KOCA and to the other guest Health Ministers and their delegations from abroad. In the second and third days of the event the moderation of the “Digital Hospital” was made by the HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 and 7 accredited hospital representatives, former Chief Physician of Yozgat City Hospital Op. Dr. Aziz Ahmet Sürel and from Tire Public Hospital – Member of the Executive Board of HIMSS Europe Exp. Dr. Gürhan Zincircioğlu.

AKGUN storm blew in panels and sessions

Our Chairman of the Board Mr. Temel AKGÜN stressed the importance of Artificial Intelligence technology at the Story of Digital Transformation in Health and Informatics Management Culture Session. He said in his speech: “Artificial Intelligence and robots become doctors’ assistants. They simplify the work of doctors and enables progress in the field of health through efficient, faster and more accurate diagnosis and treatment”. Mr. AKGÜN also talked about our digital solutions and applications in the health sector. He said “We are in the healthcare sector for over 33 years and the presence of companies like us has guaranteed national approach, our international experience has enabled us to share our knowledge and to market our software solutions”.

During the event, we participated a number of panels and sessions as a panelist such as; Healthy Assessment of Artificial Intelligence in Health, HIMSS EMRAM Success Stories, Understanding and Designing the Future of Health, and Best IT Practices in Asia and Europe. In our presentations we emphasized how AKGUN Software successfully transformed innovative R&D approaches into smart products and transformed them into useful solutions for human health. Health professionals and health managers as well as many local and foreign participants took part in these presentations.

The City Hospitals that use AKGUN Software System Solutions Received their Awards

Yozgat City Hospital, the first city hospital of Turkey and the first hospital in Europe to receive HIMSS Stage 7 accreditation according to 2018 new EMRAM criteria and again with the new criteria HIMSS Stage 6 accredited Adana City Hospital and Isparta City Hospital – which all use AKGUN Software System Solutions – received their certificates at the awards ceremony. After the congress, some hospitals, including the city hospitals, using AKGUN solutions started to work for Stage 7 accreditation.

At HIMSS’19 Eurasia, AKGUN has once again demonstrated that it will continue to be a pioneer in the health informatics field both in domestic and global markets with its technological and people-oriented applications.
